Sensing Movement
Here are some things to consider after the first version is finished and I can think about a more advanced sensor.
Position – where is the shoe located in space
Orientation – which axis and at what angle is the shoe rotated around
Velocity – how fast and in which direction is the shoe moving
Absolute or Relative – absolute location or relative to the floor
Rotation
X axis – left to right, rotation is tilt or yawn
Y axis – up and down, rotation is pan or yawn
Z axis – front to back, rotation is roll
Infrared or ultrasonic distance-ranging sensors - pulsing energy is measured by reflection for location information. (variety of ranges)
Hall-effect sensor. (close range)
GPS. (far too large)
Stuff I can’t afford (but hope to some day):
Magnetic Motion Trackers
Motion Capture Room
